Farmer voting open for DairyNZ board
It’s time for levy paying dairy farmers to cast their votes in DairyNZ’s Board of Directors election.
DairyNZ chairman Jim van der Poel said farmer vote packs are in the post to all levy payers and voting is open until 12noon Monday, October 21.
“The election is an opportunity for farmers to vote for the farmer candidates they would like to see on DairyNZ’s board,” said Mr van der Poel. “We have two director positions to fill this year and farmers getting involved and voting is crucial.
“Each board member influences the direction of DairyNZ and represents dairy farmers. It’s a great leadership opportunity and it’s important our levy payers play a part in who they’d like to see on DairyNZ’s board.”
This year eight dairy farmer candidates are standing for two positions on DairyNZ’s board. Along with the farmer-elected director election, there are several votes for farmers to make.
Voting closes before DairyNZ’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Hamilton on Tuesday, October 22.
Farmers can vote by post or online, or at the start of the AGM.
